Hi! I am Alex. Just some info about me....
I am married, and we have two beautiful children and the best dog named Luna. I love spending time with my family playing board games, and I love traveling to new places. On the weekends, I enjoy camping, painting, going for walks with my family, sewing, bike riding, and swimming.
I earned my bachelor’s degree from North Park University majoring in Psychology and Spanish in 2016. I earned my master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Midwestern University in 2018. I have clinical experience working in inpatient rehabilitation, schools, community mental health, and pediatric outpatient clinic settings.
My passion is working in pediatrics with children and their families to help children reach their fullest potential. I have worked with individuals with a variety of diagnoses, including autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, global developmental delay, intellectual disabilities, developmental disabilities, dyspraxia, ADHD, visual deficits, traumatic brain injury, and mental health related disorders. I am familiar with a variety of programs, including the Social Thinking curriculum, Zones of Regulation, Sensory Integration therapy, and Handwriting Without Tears. I have extensive training in treatment of ocular motor challenges, sensory processing deficits, and reflex integration. I have completed a Pediatric Pelvic Floor intensive course, where I gained a wealth of knowledge to assist with common toilet training, constipation, holding, and bedwetting challenges. I am dedicated to using evidence-based and children/family-centered therapy techniques to help children achieve their goals. Inspired by my teachers and mentors, as an occupational therapist, I am excited to use play to develop motor, sensory, visual, emotional, and coordination skills necessary for children and young adults.
I love being a part of the Helping Hands team!
