Heidi Zambon- Speech-Language Pathologist

Heidi is a Licensed Speech Language Pathologist by the Board of Illinois & has her Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech Language Hearing Association.  Heidi earned her bachelor’s & Masters degrees in Communication Disorder at Eastern Illinois University.  During her professional career of 8 years, Heidi has had the opportunity to work with a variety of populations and disorders.  She also has gained experience working as a speech pathologist in a variety of settings including private clinic, daycares, homes and most recently in the school system.  Heidi has had the opportunity to professionally treat and evaluate children with developmental delays, feeding/oral motor disorders, Down Syndrome, Autism, apraxia, language/language processing based disorders, fluency disorders, hearing impairment and articulation/phonological disorders.  She is experienced at providing both individual and group speech therapy to help children learn and use appropriate social skills.  Her continuing education includes courses in Play Based Intervention, Neuroscience & Self-Regulation Techniques for Kids with Austim, ADHD & Sensory Disorder, Kaufman & she also attended the Childhood Apraxia of Speech National Convention in 2014.  One of Heidi’s passions when it comes to her profession is feeding therapy.  She enjoys the process of the therapy itself and seeing the rewarding outcomes when a child overcomes any obstacle of eating new foods.  She welcomes the challenge of overcoming a “picky” eater.
